35-year-old Lizzie Velazquez is known on the Internet for her unique looks and is often called the ugliest woman in the world. She leaves nobody indifferent, and videos about her break all viral records. There are many clips on YouTube dedicated to Lizzie, including countless interviews and chats with her fans. However, back at school, her classmates treated her like a freak. Moreover, even now, despite her popularity, many, seeing Lizzie for the first time, literally can’t take their eyes off her and are lilterally stunlocked by her appearance.

Indeed, Velazquez looked much older since her 20s’, and this is only a small part of her unique appearance. The woman has difficulty moving, and this is due to the congenital disease for which doctors have not yet been able to make a diagnosis. To put it simply, Lizzie’s body has almost no subcutaneous fat, even though she eats high-calorie food almost 60 times a day. Interestingly, according to Velasquez herself, only two other people around the world suffer from the same disease. In addition, of the entire large Velazquez family, only Lizzie has such health problems.

Despite the girl having experienced a lot of bullying from her classmates, she does not lose heart. Quite the opposite, Lizzie is even proud of her appearance and does not want to be like all those famous models and actresses people see every day because they are all just examples of stereotypical beauty. According to her own words, it’s good that she doesn’t look like that because people can understand who she really is.

In a TV interview, Lizzie admitted that being bullied still hurts her because, after all, she is a human being, but she won’t let things like that break her. Sometimes, she sees people staring at her, which is understandable, and wants to give them a business card that says: “I’m Lizzie.” Maybe then they’d see her as an equal member of society and learn to understand she’s not all that different from them.

Lizzie’s mother said that when the girl was born, doctors did not give any guarantees that she would survive. When the miracle happened, the hospital staff were very surprised. Even though Lizzy made it out, the doctors told her parents it wasn’t over yet, declaring that their baby girl would never be able to walk, talk, and, in general, live a normal life.

Despite all the bleak diagnoses, Lizzie not only talks and walks (albeit with difficulty), but also gives numerous interviews, travels the world, meets with different people, and attends various seminars where she talks about her illness and overcoming it. And she’s been this beacon of hope and positivity all her adult life. Even at 35, Velasquez is not discouraged one bit and wants to convey to people that one should always look past the rough exterior, however ugly it may seem to them, and look at what kind of person is on the inside.
